What it’s like to be photographed by me…
Past clients describe me as joyful, fun, passionate, warm and have the ability to make my couples feel comfortable through laughter & wanting to know ALL of your stories of how/when/where and why you fell in love.
The majority of the couples that I photograph tell me beforehand that they’re “SO awkward infront of the camera!” Unless your Kate Moss or Justin Bieber, I wouldn’t expect you to feel 100% used to being infront of the camera. But you know what? That’s where I come in! I won’t let you stay feeling awkward during your engagement session or wedding! I’ll pull out my bag of tricks to guide your through your photos by playing your favorite music, asking you two questions about your love story & why you’re proud to marry him/her, give corny prompts to make you two laugh (with each other or at me) and keep you moving from one spot to the next to keep things from feeling stiff & stale.
I try to find balance between getting genuinely excited with “OH MY GOSH” and “yeaaaaah girl”’s to allowing moments of quiet & stillness when I sense that you two are enjoying the moments being embraced in each other’s arms.
I tend to wear more than just the photographer hat, as I desire to use all of my gifts, expertise and experience to assure my clients have the smoothest, most beautiful and memorable wedding day ever. I’ll help guide you through choosing the best coverage for your needs, while giving you realistic expectations & never making promises I can’t keep. Help you create a seamless photo timeline to capture every moment & detail you’ve been dreaming about since before he put a ring on that finger. On the day of your wedding I’ll not only photograph your day (obviouslyyyy), but I’ll help put on your veil, fasten the backs to your earrings, carry your bouquet, bustle your dress, let Aunt Betty know that you prefer she keep her iPad out of the aisle during the ceremony, command a crowd of your family during family photos with a smile & assertiveness, hype you two up with genuine compliments as I guide you through your photos and assure you two are greeted with your cocktail of choice & yummy appetizers before the party gets started!
On your wedding day, you can usually find me tearing up behind my lens during an emotional ceremony, father of the bride speech or mother-son dance, which is probably why I grow attached to my couples and love watching their marriage grow over the years long after they say I DO. Since becoming a mother myself, my perspective on what matters on a wedding day has expanded and shifted to make sure to always look around and capture your Mom as she smiles with tears streaming down her face when she sees you in your dress, your grandparents holding hands as you recite your vows and your Dad barely making it through his speech as he talks about the first time he held his baby girl. But don’t you worry, I still love capturing romantic moments of you two as the sun starts to set. My desire is to capture memories you’ll look back on years from now and smile as you reminisce on each anniversary & milestone you celebrate together.
